a3bandas proposes to contemporary art galleries in Madrid to widen up their usual programming during April and May by inviting an independent curator to design an exhibition for their spaces with artists they do not represent.

a3bandas connects curators and gallerists, brings new artists into the galleries, seeking to achieve maximum quality exhibitions by combining the efforts of galleries, curators and, artists.

a3bandas has been held in Madrid each April and May since 2011 and has become a fixed event on the annual calendar of contemporary art in Spain. Its first two editions were conceived and directed by Virginia Torrente, who continues to collaborate as a member of the advisory board. The association hablarenarte: continues the work since 2013.
