Carmen París is awarded with the National Prize of Modern Music 2014

Carmen París was on tour in Sweden with the world music band Zoobazar last October and beginning of November. This was the first time she was on tour outside Spain.

 

The National Prize of Modern Music 2014 has been awarded to Carmen París for her ”braveness” in fusing the traditional jota (a genre of music and the associated dance originating in the region of Aragon) with contemporary music. The prize consists of 30,000€. Past musicians who have received the prize are: Joan Manuel Serrat, Amaral, Santiago Auserón, Kiko Veneno and Luz Casal.
